Now it seems as though Chris Dodd knew about the AIG bonuses. The Dodd Amendment actually contains loopholes allowing AIG to give their loser executives these large bonuses which are coming out of my paycheck. Are you asking us (read “We the People”) to believe that the Obama administration didn’t realize that this was in force? They didn’t know that the amendment had these provisions. And, we have to trust them to have their eye on the ball for everything else? Is there anything else they knew about and forgot to mention to the American people? Can someone remind me how to spell transparency?
Senator Grassley, on Capital Hill suggested that like the Japanese, who when they fail and disappoint others, quietly rip out their viscera with a dagger to regain their honor, the executives of AIG should go forth and do likewise. I agree. It would be messy, but thoroughly enjoyable. Perhaps Chris Dodd and Barney Frank could do the same thing. Hari Kari….American Style. It could be televised live. The rating would sore through the roof.
Someone who is about to be sacrificed is poor little Timmy Geithner. The bus is coming trundling down the hill and White House spokesmen are saying that the President has full confidence in Mr. Geithner. Now here’s a little translation. When your boss tells the public that he has full confidence in you, he’s getting ready to fire you. Anyone want to make book on the fact that Geithner will resign in the next two weeks?
